Aid and Appliances Support for Persons with Disabilities

Bridging the Gap Through Accessibility

PWD face down many physical barriers to independence, education, and employment. Mobility issues, hearing impairments and visual disabilities can confine individuals to much fewer opportunities that others have unrestricted access to and we see a world where everyone has access to good health, freedom of mobility and equal chance. To do this, the foundation directly supports PWD to break-down barriers by providing assistive devices that makes our society inclusive.

Providing Mobility Aids

For most in the physically disabled community, mobility is a crucial part of achieving independence. We provide wheelchairs, crutches, walking sticks or tricycles to enable PWDs with unrestricted mobility and access to everyday life. Such mobility aids not just promote access to education and place of work, but also make it possible for individuals being more included in their communities. Through moving PWD regain the ability to live more free standing and more confident.

Hearing and Speech Support

Hearing loss frequently results in communication and educational limitations, especially for children, who can become isolated from their environment. In response to this, the foundation offers hearing aids, speech therapy devices and auditory training help. These hearing aids help people with hearing loss to better participate in daily life, making it a great way to promote learning and foster stronger relationships. Bringing this community into the mainstream and reducing the gap in conversations, we enable inclusion by providing hearing-impaired people an equal opportunity at life.

Visual Impairment Assistance

For those who are partially or completely blind, the foundation provides Braille kits, magnifiers, screen reading software and white canes to help in learning and independent living. Similarly, digital resources talking software and accessible education materials are also available in order to assist with learning and associated career aspirations. These aids help to open doors and ensure people living with visual loss are not locked out of education, employment or community life.

Educational and Digital Assistive Devices

Knowledge and technology are tied to each other in the present state of affairs. Realising this we distribute assistive devices for special learning, laptop and keypads for PWD students. These aids are indispensable to facilitating the studies of disabled children together with other pupils. Through its incorporation of technology, the foundation also maintains inclusive education environments both in brick-and-mortar as well as digital classrooms, by not letting any child be left out only because of his or her disability.

Partnerships for Greater Impact

The aids and appliances for the disabled in India is supported through partnerships with corporates, foundations and NGOs are key to Abhivruddhi foundation’s support. In collaboration with other social groups like APD, TRRAIN- Trust for Retailers and Retail Associates of India, CDT – Cheshire Disability Trust and Amazon, it has enabled the foundation to source, distribute, as well as maintain top-of-the-line assistive devices. These collaborations also facilitate massed distribution camps through which a number of PWD beneficiaries are provided with aids in a dignified and organized way.

Transforming Lives with Dignity

Every wheelchair, hearing aid or digital tool we deliver is more than a piece of equipment it’s the key to dignity and opportunity. These assistances help the PWD to go to schools, work and live independently. They also diminish reliance on carers, relieving family pressures and increasing social inclusion. The change is not just about turning ugly ducklings into beautiful swans, but also in helping them gain the confidence of mingling with society without a barrier.
